Always Being Close to Hashem

The Rebbe's Pharmacy | July 09, 2026

1. “Even in the lowest depths, a person can be close to Hashem.”

We must know that no matter the situation we’re in, it is possible to be close to Hashem. All we must do is awaken our hearts to think about an idea of encouragement from the tzaddikim that relates to where we are now and shows us that Hashem is always with us—whether we’re learning, davening, eating, working, and so on. Through this, we can find the strength to grab whatever good deeds we can, even if we’re in the lowest place.

The nature of a human being is that when he sees things are not going his way and he’s not successful in Torah and tefillah, he distances himself even more from Hashem until he becomes truly removed, G-d forbid. However, once we understand that Hashem is always with us, we see that we can find what our souls are truly searching for: feeling close to Hashem. Then, we naturally awaken ourselves to look for chizuk. We constantly try to do our best, no matter how dismal things seem to be. Thus, it is clear that this concept is a basis for all the paths of chizuk.
