Eretz Yisrael and Lag B’Omer

Living Jewish | June 27, 2025

The air is alive with anticipation as plans take shape for this year’s Great Lag B’Omer Parade and Fair in New York. The semi-annual event, a beloved highlight for Jews across the tristate area, will embrace themes of Eretz Yisrael.

A highlight of the parade will be the spectacular floats meticulously crafted to depict famous cities and concepts quintessential to Eretz Yisrael. Expect to see breathtaking displays bringing Yerushalayim, Chevron, Tzfat and more to life before your eyes. Other floats will aim to capture values and ideals central to Eretz Yisrael, such as the Shiva Minim and Shleimut Ha’aretz.

“Considering the events of the past year, Lag B’Omer is a perfect time to celebrate our connection to Eretz Yisrael,” said Parade coordinators. “This year’s theme allows us to show that we stand strong with our brothers and sisters in the Holy Land and display strength and pride in our Judaism.”

With the recent escalation of attacks on Eretz Yisrael, it is even more vital to show support and unwavering commitment. Especially central to Lag B’Omer is the power Jewish children have to unite and vanquish our enemies.

In a surprise announcement sure to delight crowds, popular Jewish music sensation Simcha Friedman is booked as a featured performer. Friedman’s stirring vocals and inspiring lyrics have made him a global favorite.

“We can’t wait to welcome Simcha and have him lead us all in song and celebration,” organizers shared. “His music and presence will be the perfect centerpiece to this year’s Eretz Yisrael theme.”

The Lag B’Omer Parade has been the flagship event of the Jewish community calendar for over 70 years. Organizers expect record-breaking attendance with the enthusiasm around this year’s theme and Simcha Friedman’s upcoming performance.

In addition to the parade in New York, large Lag B’Omer parades will take place in thousands of cities throughout the world.
