Kohen Gadol Survives

The Parsha Post | June 27, 2025

Surrounded by a throng of well-wishers, an exhausted but happy Kohen Gadol was given a hero’s welcome as he made his way from the Beis HaMikdash to his home in Jerusalem.

“It has been a long, long day for the Kohen Gadol... a Yoma Raba,” reported TNS Temple Reporter Mikey Mikdash. “He just spent the entire Yom Kippur changing his holy clothing, dipping in the Mikvah pool several times, performing special rituals involving two goats, and a most daring entrance into the Holy of Holies, the Kodesh HaKadashim!”

“Nobody knew for sure if he would make it out alive,” added observer Yonah Maftir. “Now that Yom Kippur is over and our Kohen Gadol has survived, it is a sign from HaShem that his Yom Kippur service was accepted. Tonight, Jews throughout the Holy Land are enjoying a post-Yom Kippur ‘Break-fast Celebration,’ Lechaim!”
