During the Three Weeks from the 17th of Tammuz (this year, Saturday night, July 12 and Sunday, July 13) until Tishah B’Av, when the Beis Hamidkash was destroyed, it is customary to learn about the structure of the Beis Hamikdash. When we learn about it, G-d considers it as if we are building it! This learning has been customary for many generations, but in our times it’s in a completely different way! Rather than coming from a feeling of mourning over what we lost, it is out of yearning for the greatest Beis Hamikdash soon to come! We urgently have to master this information, because we will be using it so soon in the Beis Hamikdash! Learning about the Redemption brings the Redemption faster, and also gets us started living in a way befitting the special time we’re in, when we can already point to Moshiach!
