Lechatchilah or Bedieved

The Shu”t Kesav Sofer (Orach Chaim 88) takes on that making kiddush on wine that was left uncovered is a problem even bedieved. In the Chofetz Chaim’s Likutei Halachos (in a hashmotah) he originally wants to be stringent when it comes to הקריבהו נא even bedieved, however, he ends off tzorich iyun. If one finds himself in such a situation it would seem that it’s best to hear kiddush from someone else.
