Prophecy of Bilam – A Blessing to the Jews

במדבר פרק כג, כג כ ָע ת י אָמ ר לְיַעֲקֹב

In the Yerushalmi שבת פ"ו ה"ט, Rabbi Chaninah says the word כעת indicates “like this time” means at this point in time was like one-half of the entire lifespan of the world (another set of time like from the beginning of time until now). What happened then to fulfill this blessing?

T.T. The year that this prophecy occurred was 2486. If this was like a half, then the blessing refers to the year 4972 (1212 in the Common Era). This was a time of opening of the lights of Torah in the French and Sephardic lands, even though due to our sins, we missed the full potential of that period.
