Rav Yisroel Horowitz (Tammuz 19, 5562 / 1802 - 222nd Yahrzeit) (Some say the Yahrzeit is in the year 5597 / 1837 - 187th Yahrzeit) Son of Rav Yaakov Yitzchok Horowitz, the Chozeh of Lublin.
The Chiddushei HaRim of Ger testified that Rav Yisroel did not need his father’s yichus since he was a mesechta – a tractate all his own!

After his father’s passing, many Chassidim wished to crown him as successor, yet he adamantly refused.
He passed away 19 Tammuz תקס''ב (others say after .) תקצ''ז 1837
His sons were: Rav Dovid Kopel, Rav Shmuel Yeshaya, Rav Zisha, and Rav Kalonymous Kalman.
His sons-in-law were: Rav Emanuel of Pshedburz and Rav Aharon of Cracow.
