After Minchah, read the sixth chapter of Pirkei Avos.
Motzoei Shabbos
Although tomorrow is a fast day, as long as you have not yet gone to sleep, you may eat until alos hashachar.
Today is the first day of the three weeks between Shivah Asar B’Tammuz and Tisha B’Av.
Do not rinse your mouth in the morning (as is usually done before reciting birchos hashachar).
For more fast-related laws, see below, “Hosafos.”
On a fast day it is customary to give extra tzedakah, in quantity as well as in quality (by giving it in a cheerful and pleasant manner).
Shacharis and Selichos
The congregation does not recite Aneinu during Shacharis. The chazzan, however, recites Aneinu during chazaras hashatz (as a separate berachah between Goel Yisroel and Refaeinu).
Selichos are recited during Tachanun, after the paragraph Ledavid eilecha Hashem nafshi esa and before Avinu Malkeinu.
New editions of Tehillas Hashem feature Selichos in a seamless format. See below, “Hosafos,” for the correct order of Selichos according to the pages of the older editions of Tehillas Hashem.
Selichos are followed by the long Avinu Malkeinu, Va’anachnu lo neda, Chatzi Kaddish, and krias hatorah.
For more on Shacharis and Selichos, see below, “Hosafos.”
