In Sefer Melochim we have the story of an Isha “Gedola” (the Shunamis) who kept saying: ב תוֹךְ עַמ י אָנֹכ י יֹשָׁבֶת מ"ב ד יג I'm part of the Rabim! This is exactly why she's an Isha Chashuva. She isn't a selfish egoist; she cares for Klal Yisroel, and that's why she was Zoche to be the: בַ עֲ לַ ת אַ כ סַ נ יָ א host of the greatest Ish HaKlal in the world, Elisha HaNavi, whose very essence was to help Klal Yisroel.
That's why we are: צ ב אוֹת ה' army men, because a soldier is automatically Chashuv since he sacrifices his serenity for the Klal. Even if you have thousands of soldiers, they are all Chashuv since they are soldiers. And Malachim are also called: צ בָאוֹת – no entity is more Chashuv than a Malach, who is in Shamayim and near Hashem.
Knowing your own greatness is of paramount importance; it's not Ga'ava! The Malbim Zatzal explains how Dovid contrasted his Malchus to Shaul HaMelech’s Malchus.
Dovid had danced with unusual Laibedikeit (liveliness), which Michal bas Shaul wasn't used to seeing in her father’s house, and she objected because she felt it wasn't dignified. Dovid explained to his wife Michal that her father was a Melech who was: תָ לוּ י dependent in people's opinions. But Dovid was a Melech chosen totally by Hashem, and he respected himself for who he was, without needing a consent from people; and this is why he remains the true king. A person who always needs approval from others is like an Eved (slave) to others; not a Melech! The whole Tzara of the wicked Haskalah was because they were so concerned to show what “loyal citizens” they were to the gentile nations where they lived.
Especially in Germany, who were considered more civilized and refined. The German Yidden went out of their way to impress what "good Goyim" they can become, and thousands actually enlisted to help the Germans fight during WWI! Look what fools they made of themselves, with Davka Nazi Germany being the worst of the worst in torturing Jews!
