Furthermore, we are currently standing at the completion of the Avodah of the Sefiras Ho’omer. The general thrust of Sefiras Ho’omer concerns the running away from Mitzrayim towards Matan Torah, about which the Possuk says: נָרוּצָה גּוֹ׳ מָשְכֵנִּי אַחֲרֶיךָ “Draw me, we will run after you” נָרוּצָה we will run after you - in plural referring to both the Divine soul together with the animal soul.

Furthermore: In these days of Erev Chag Hashovuos, there is an additional aspect in the preparation for Matan Torah.

Running: From a yearning and strong desire to go to Matan Torah.

The Possuk says: Shir HaShirim (1:4) מָשְכֵנִּי אַחֲרֶיךָ נָרוּצָה הֱבִּיאַנִּי הַמֶלֶךְ חֲדָרָיו נָגִּילָה וְנִּשְמְחָה בָךְ נַזְכִּירָה דֹדֶיךָ מִּיַיִּן מֵישָרִּים אֲהֵבוּךָ “Draw me, we will run after you; the king brought me to his chambers. We will rejoice and be glad in you. We will recall your love more fragrant than wine; they have loved you sincerely. Rashi says: Draw me, we will run after you: I heard from your messengers a hint that you said to draw me, and I said, “We will run after you to be your wife.” That Hakodosh Boruch Hu is drawing in the B’nei Yisroel and elevating them out of Mitzrayim.

The Divine soul and the animal soul: The Alter Rebbe explains in Likkutei Torah that the word מָשְכֵנִּי draw me in the singular is an Issarussa Dile’eilah, an arousal from above. To awaken the natural love that is within the Divine soul. With that the Divine soul refines the animal soul which is why the Possuk states thereafter נָרוּצָה in the plural we will run with both souls running.
