Shavuos and Moshiach

The Jewish people will be redeemed from golus on Shavuos. At least the Heavenly verdict and decision according to the Torah will be decided [on Shavuos] that the Geulah should be that year.

That is why on Shavuos we have to intensify our prayers for the Geulah, including the days following which are "Yemei Tashlumin" (days of 'compensation')

SHAVUOS AND MOSHIACH

The Talmud (Pesachim 68b) discusses the requirements of rejoicing on Yom Tov. Some opinions are that Yom Tov has to be celebrated with (entirely) physical enjoyment (eating and drinking) or entirely spiritually. While another opinion is that it be divided half to physical satisfaction and half to spiritual. Both opinions deduce this from the following p'sukim:

One possuk (Devarim 16:8) says that Yom Tov is "a retreat dedicated to Hashem" [spiritual celebration], and one possuk (Bamidbar 29:35) says: "a retreat for you" [physical satisfaction].

The Talmud concludes that in regard to the Yom Tov of Atzeret (Shavuos) all agree that it is necessary to be "also for you" (nami lochem), because it is the day the Torah was given

Actually this represents the purpose of Mattan Torah (giving of the Torah): the integration and enjoining of G-dliness (spirituality) and the physical world. That the lower (physical) realm should be elevated to the higher (spiritual) realm, and the higher realm should descend to the lower.

ALL AGREE ABOUT SHAVUOS

The (Hebrew) words "nami lochem" (נמי לכם) are numerically equivalent to the word kaytz (קץ) 190 -- which means the time of Moshiach's coming.

Shavuos is an auspicious time to pray and ask for the Geulah as is implied in the words "bo'inan nami lochem" -- "bo'inan" means prayer and supplication (as in Yishayohu 21:12); nami lochem has the same numeric value as kaytz (revelation of Moshiach) -- and especially on the Shabbos following the Yom Tov of Shavuos, when all the days of the previous week, [which also include the "Yemei Tashlumin" (days of 'compensation')] - are elevated and completed.
