The Case of the Baal Koreh Who Was Running Late and Recited the Berachos On Megillas Rus and then Realized He Hadn’t Yet Recited Birchas HaTorah

Last year I heard an interesting shailah on Shavuos: The baal koreh who normally reads Megillah Rus went to sleep on Shavuos night, and he overslept. When finally awaking, he ran to shul and arrived just before they started leining. He quickly made a berachah על מקרא מגילה, and then realized that he hadn’t yet recited birchas haTorah. The shailah arose: If the baal koreh may stop and recite birchas haTorah after the berachah on the Megillah before leining, or would it be considered an interruption between the berachah and the reading? There is a halachah that if one asks someone to pass the salt between making the berachah of hamotzi and eating it’s not considered an interruption as its something needed
