Some people find being Jewish difficult, especially with the rise of Anti-Semitism. A woman who became a baalas teshuva told her journey to Judaism. She was investigating the religions of the Far East and later discovered Judaism. After she became an observant Jew, she was asked if her life was now free of problems. She responded, “I have problems but I love my life.” Everyone has problems but this is the best and happiest way to live.
A chassid once bemoaned to his Rebbe, “It is so difficult to be a Jew.” The Rebbe responded, “You are correct. It is difficult to be a Jew. However, it is more difficult not to be a Jew.”
In a speech, a well-known Rav in Eretz Yisrael gave, he said, “We do our children a disservice when we tell them that Judaism is fun. Judaism isn’t always fun, as it sometimes requires sacrifice, but Judaism is worth it.”
