("And there remained two men in the camp; the name of one of them was Eldad, and the name of the second was Meidad; and it rested on them the spirit, and they are from the written ones, and they did not leave the tent, and were prophesizing in the camp." Bamidbar 11:26)
What is this prophesizing business—why all of a sudden did they get prophecy?
Says the Ohr haChaim haKadosh: Let's take a closer look at the verse. First we say that they were not chosen for the Sanhedrin (High Court) of seventy elders (for there were twelve tribes, meaning six per tribe, with a difference of two), and then all of a sudden they get prophecy. In other words, because they were not chosen, and therefore felt "rejected" and not-wanted, therefore they immediately became great prophets! So, the next time you feel any negative feelings or emotions, like "rejection" or the like, get ready for some big miracles (I can't guarantee prophecy, but maybe something close!)
Story:
True story: A major (Litvish) rosh yeshiva told his students: "Why aren't you all learning Zohar?! Get to it!" And we add: the parts that are specifically "for you", for example where it speaks about the greatness of truly believing in and relying on Hashem!
Question:
If I only would have more stamina and abilities, I feel like I could accomplish so much more. Any advice?
Answer:
Impossible! Even if you would have a thousand times more than what you have already, you still would not be able to "produce" even the smallest drop more! All a lowly human being can do is try, but the results are anyways only in the hands of our loving caring Father in Heaven Hashem. Whatever happens or does not happen would have happened anyways. Our job is just the thought-process, to choose life, but the results are already pre-determined by Hashem, in the best possible way that could ever possibly be (see Chovos haLevavos Sha'ar haBitachon 4:4).
Now, this being said, a little mussar on bitachon (reliance on Hashem) never hurts... Get ready to break through all those "walls" in your life, be it in spiritual or physical matters (or both)!
Spreading Hashem's Wonders (see Tehilim 105:2):
- Nine Al-Qaeda members in Yemen eliminated in a drone strike.
- Ashraf Abu Nar, head of operations at the Hamas Civil Defense Mechanism Department, eliminated.
- Out of three rockets fired from southern Gaza into Israel, two fell short in Gaza, and the third was shot-down. All terrorists involved were immediately eliminated.
- Shipment of rockets intended for Hezbollah seized near the Lebanese border.
- Missile fired from Yemen shot-down.
