Similarly, with וּבְּכָל־נַפְּשְּךָ that it includes the ‘Makif’ perspective of וּבְּכָל־נַפְּשְּךָ. Similarly, with וּבְּכָל־מְּאֹדֶךָ that it includes the ‘Makif’ perspective of וּבְּכָל־מְּאֹדֶךָ. This progression continues until the individual’s own personal ‘Me’od’ also loves HaShem. This is in accordance with his own level (for whatever reason) which constitutes the extent of his personal ‘Me’od’. Furthermore, there [is a progression to the level of] general ‘Me’od’ until reaching the state of the true ‘Me’od’ which is higher than everything. And when these two states (His Me’od and the general Me’od) [become] illuminated within him internally, he then draws down an even higher state that could only ever [previously] come down as far as a perspective of ‘Makif’.
Definitions
‘Me’od’: Symbolising the very highest level beyond limitation of one’s heart.
Own personal Me’od: Even a level which is not Meod above its own limitations but only Me’od in comparison to that individual person.
Makif perspective: It is explained in Chassidus that there is a certain amount that a person can understand and then from that point which is beyond his grasp he needs to have faith. But when a person contemplates deep into his mind and delves into lofty concepts he opens his mind to understand and grasp more and more. He starts to understand concepts that were previously only available to him through his faith. And that barrier which divides his understanding from his faith is pushed higher and even more lofty concepts come into his reach albeit through his faith. Here too we are discussing things that were previously in the realm of ‘Makif’ to him and are now becoming ‘P’nimi’ and loftier concepts are becoming ‘Makif’ for him. This is obviously subjective to a person’s individual meditation and contemplation, according to one’s effort so will he reap the reward.
