The Hilula of the Holy Rabbi Yeshaya of Kerestir at the Zera Shimshon Beit Midrash Hall

Zera Shimshon | June 27, 2025

A splendid banquet for the participants of the central class, held every Thursday night at 10:00 PM

The classes and kollels at Heichal HaYeshuot - Zera Shimshon Beit Midrash, continue to expand. At the Zera Shimshon Beit Midrash, located at 10 Hatzvi Street in Jerusalem, a central meal was held in honor of the hilula of the holy Rabbi Yeshaya ben Moshe of Kerestir, zt”l. Around generously set tables, all the participants of the regular shiur on the Zera Shimshon — a work renowned for its power to bring about salvations — gathered. The class takes place there every Thursday night at 10:00 PM for half an hour, with the Beit Midrash filled to capacity, as attendees enjoy the sweet insights of the Zera Shimshon.

After the shiur, a special Mi Sheberach prayer is recited for the benefit of those who donate toward the dissemination of the teachings of the Zera Shimshon, and participants also submit names for blessings and salvation. Each week, a special candle-lighting ceremony is held in memory of the soul of the Zera Shimshon. It is worth noting that participants of the class enjoy a rich weekly spread, featuring delicacies reminiscent of Shabbat.

It is common for class participants to encounter people who come to express praise and gratitude for salvations they have experienced, wishing to offer their thanks publicly — specifically in this place named in his honor: Heichal HaYeshuot (“Hall of Salvations”) – Zera Shimshon Beit Midrash. In many cases, the crowd breaks out emotionally in proclamation: “Give thanks to Hashem for He is good, for His kindness endures forever!” and the joy overflows all bounds.

During the uplifting meal, words were shared by the rabbis of the World Organization for the Dissemination of Zera Shimshon’s Torah: Rabbi Yisrael Zilberberg, shlit”a, and Rabbi Avraham Mordechai Zilberberg, shlit”a, as well as other distinguished rabbis and prominent speakers. All expounded on the teachings of the righteous ones — Rabbi Yeshaya of Kerestir and the Zera Shimshon, zt”l — and on the legacy of salvation they passed down through the generations.

Among the points raised was a fascinating insight: Rabbi Yeshaya is primarily known for his great acts of kindness, whereas the Zera Shimshon is known less for personal stories and more for his teachings and numerous brilliant Torah commentaries. This presents a remarkable synthesis of Torah and kindness, united by a common purpose — both figures became especially renowned in this last generation for bringing about great salvations on our behalf. May their merit protect us and all of Israel — Amen!

Also present at the meal was the charitable and righteous figure, the influential Gaon and Tzadik Rabbi Meir Kahn, shlit”a, who came especially to share with the many participants the extraordinary double miracle of salvation he experienced through regular study of the Zera Shimshon. Rabbi Kahn, shlit”a, called on the public to join the classes held at the Zera Shimshon Beit Midrash, asserting with confidence that the spirit and soul of Rabbenu, the Zera Shimshon, are surely present in the place established in his honor and bearing his name.
