When Unable to Give Money

Rebbe Responsa | June 27, 2025

By the Grace of G-d
18th of Adar, 5743
Brooklyn, N.Y.
Greeting and Blessing:

...Receipt is enclosed for your check in partial payment of the loan. This acknowledgement has likewise been delayed for the auspicious reason mentioned above, especially as there is no urgency in the repayment of this loan.

As for further guidance—continue to put your complete trust in Hashem, while pursuing the channels for Parnosso in the natural order, and keeping the channels of G-d’s blessings wide open through the everyday life and conduct in accordance with G-d’s Will. And you may be sure that HaShem will reciprocate by fulfilling your heart’s desires for good, including your desire to “once again begin supporting the holy work”—also financially; for in fact and in truth you and your wife are already supporting this work by your shining example, which is a source of inspiration to many. And this is particularly important in the work of spreading Yiddishkeit, even more than financial support. All the more so that you will be able to continue your support in both areas, and in a growing measure.

I was especially gratified to read that your wife is “right along” with you in all this, and may you both together enjoy many, many years of goodness and pleasantness, materially and spiritually.

Looking forward to hearing further good news from you in all above,
With blessing,
M. Schneerson
