“For I knew that Hashem is great, our Master [is greater] than all the heavenly angels.” Dovid HaMelech, may he rest in peace, said: “For I knew” – specifically “I knew” – since it is impossible for a person to speak about the greatness of Hashem to his friend or even to himself from one day to the next, according to what illuminates [his heart] and sparks [his mind] on that particular day. The following day, a person can’t speak to himself about the illumination and spark of the greatness of Hashem that he experienced yesterday. Therefore, [Dovid HaMelech] said: “For I knew” – specifically “I knew” – since it is impossible to speak about it at all.
