A Point of View זווית ראיה

An amazing story of hashgacha that I saw firsthand as a gabbai.

A doctor specializing in bone pain came from the United States to the home of Rav Gamliel to receive a bracha. Among the crowd of people waiting stood a young man who suffered from a bone problem. The doctor saw the young man among those waiting for the audience and recognized that he was suffering from an issue related to his own area of expertise. He took the young man aside and explained to him exactly which exercises he needed to do to relieve his pain and heal himself. The young man rejoiced greatly, for he already felt significant relief.

When his turn came to enter to the Rav, he cried before the Rav and said that he had no yeshivah and needed a bracha and help to find a good and suitable yeshivah. Rav Gamliel turned to him with fatherly warmth and said to him: “I do not understand you. HaKadosh Baruch Hu sent you from the United States, at the exact time that you are here, a specialist for bone problems—one for whom people wait many months and pay a great fortune to receive a consultation—and all this, free of charge, with precise hashgacha because HaKadosh Baruch Hu cares for you. And you think that He will not also care for you to find a good yeshivah for yourself?!”

The young man heard these words, smiled a great smile of understanding, and left with complete confidence that HaKadosh Baruch Hu would arrange for him a good yeshivah! More than anyone else, the doctor himself was deeply moved, having merited to recognize and assist the young man through such wondrous hashgacha.
