Rav Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev - (1740-1809), Poland, Belarus, Ukraine; The Berdichever. A child prodigy, he was drawn to Chasidism by R' Shmelka of Nikolsburg, who introduced him to the Maggid of Mezritch, under whom he studied for many years. His love of the Jewish people and his charitable interpretations of their actions before G-d are legendary.
