You Came to This World to Work on Accepting Yourself and Your Matzav

He is actually happy with even his unfortunate Nisyonos because “I’m in love with me!” And my own Peckel is precious to me, since this is the way Hashem made me. What I love most in my life is my horrific weakness. It will make me a great person just by working on it, or continue working on myself despite such a bad nature.

My parents, Zichron’am Li’vracha, had a very good relationship, although they were quite different in many ways.

In his later years, I once overheard my father saying: “This is the wife that Hashem gave me”. You learn to love and appreciate what’s yours, since it’s all Min HaShamayim, even though there may be some difficulties in your situation. You came to this world to work on accepting yourself and your Matzav.

So don’t be so impressed with all those Gedolim and Tzaddikim, and all those people whom you tend to envy. They are all only tests, to distract you from becoming yourself, which is much more important than admiring others; albeit even great Tzadikim. They became great because they focused overtime on their OWN Maalos.
