At first, this revelation is like a light without any vessel to contain it. Similar to what we discussed in Sichah 1, it is an experience that we can’t explain in words. We can’t describe it to anyone else. We don’t know what it is yet, as Rebbe Nachman says, “He won’t know what to do at all due to the intensity of his desire, and he will call out to Hashem, etc.” When we’re in this place, we don’t need to do anything. We are in a state of pure yishuv hadaas, and our avodah is simply to feel close to Hashem.
This heals us completely, since it eliminates all of our suffering and confusion. In everything we need to do in life, there are obstacles, doubts, difficulties, and so on. However, when we attach ourselves to a deep ratzon for Hashem, this sweetens all of the dinim that are the source of all these problems. We free ourselves of all the constricted consciousness that causes us to suffer.
Then, afterwards, the imprint of the light that we experienced comes down into the vessels of our minds (Chochmah, Binah, and Daas) and middos (Chessed, Gevurah, Tiferes, etc.), as we explained in Sichah 1. In other words, we come to a deeper understanding of the sefarim of tzaddikim and how to apply them to our lives. We find true clarity of mind in our avodas Hashem.
Everything starts with emunah in the truth of the tzaddikim, which awakens a revelation of the G-dliness in our hearts – our ratzon for Hashem. Even when we fall into temptations and sin, G-d forbid, our ratzon can always take us out. We want Hashem and nothing can stand in front of our powerful desire for Him.
