Every Jewish home is a world by itself, which needs to be guarded and respected, and not “mixed”. And it is interesting that by Avodas Yom HaKippurim it says: וְכִפֶּר בַעֲדו וּבְעַד בֵיתו. בֵיתו, זו אִשְתו משנה ריש יומא the Cohen Gadol shall be M'chaper for himself and his “house”, this refers to his wife. Why doesn’t the Torah just say: וְכִפֶּר בַעֲדו וּבְעַד אִשְתו himself and his wife? Perhaps the Torah is stressing the importance of a “house” as the Shemira (protection), similar to: לֵיל שִימּוּרִים the night of Pesach which symbolizes stability and Tz'niyus. Similarly, the: שָעִיר לַעֲזָאזֵל (Eisav) goat goes to an empty Midbar, whereas the: שָעִיר לַשֵם (Yaakov) goat stays in the Bayis (in the Bais Hamikdash).
לֵיל שִימּוּרִים those who guard their homes from evil, Hashem guards them and saves them, and they have a truly happy family life.
