37. The poskim discuss whether one wine can be botul in a mixture of mevushal and non-mevushal wines, and in what ratio. For example, if two partially full bottles of wine are left over at the end of a meal, one that is non-mevushal and the other containing mevushal wine, and one was poured into the other, do we treat the wine as mevushal or non-mevushal regarding non-Jewish contact?

38. One in six. Some hold we can use the ratio of water mixed with wine, which is one in six parts of wine. Thus, if the non-mevushal wine is less than one in six parts of the mevushal wine, it is all considered mevushal and there is no issue with non-Jewish contact (י''א ברמ''א יו''ד סי' קכ''ג ס''ה ).

39. Botul b’rov. Others are meikel and hold non-mevushal wine is botul b’rov in a greater quantity of mevushal wine (י''א ברמ''א שם ).

40. Only b’dieved. L’chatchila, though, one should be machmir that it is only botul b’shishim. If the mevushal wine is less than sixty times the amount of the non-mevushal wine, it should all be treated as non-mevushal regarding non-Jewish contact.
