The Fun Life of A Mitzri Is Fake But A Yid Has Real Pleasure

Bitachon Weekly | June 27, 2025

We need to experience our own Ruchaniyus, eating delicious Korbanos L'shem Shamayim. Makkas B'choros was the Makka that showed the contrast of a Mitzri fake fun life, and a Yid’s real pleasure. The Mitzri'im said: כֻּלָנוּ מֵתִים יב לג they were ALL dying, because each Mitzri woman had many Bechorim (firstborn) to many fake husbands. And while they die, we enjoy a normal family life, eating indescribably delicious Korban Pesach. Makkas B'choros symbolizes the fake dead-end life of those who love only Olam HaZeh.

In Makkas: צְפַרְ דֵעַ (frogs) we have frogs and/or crocodiles entering: בְבֵיתֶךָ וּבַחֲדַר מִשְכָבְךָ וְעַל מִטָתֶךָ וּבְתַנוּרֶיךָ וּבְמִשְאֲרותֶיךָ ז כח their homes, bedrooms, beds, ovens and stoves (they also went into the bellies of the Mitzri'im). Again, this symbolizes Ta'avos Olam HaZeh; all forms of food and Arayos that the Mitzri'im engaged in. The fake Bayis (home) of the Mitzri was raided by cruel and annoying animals who are always wearing smiles which are meaningless, just like the wicked fun of a Mitzri is Hevel Havalim.

It is indeed striking how the crocodiles raided Davka all those Gashmiyus’dik parts of a Mitzri’s life. הִתְעַלַלְתִי בְמִצְרַיִם י ב Hashem makes a joke out of the fake homes of the Mitzri'im, and a Mitzri sees what he himself looks like, with a smiley frog in front of him. Before we left Mitzrayim, we needed to see the fallacy of the gentile world. And soon we’ll be ready for the beautiful Torah.
