Guidance → Why Not to do Birth Control
...regarding preventing pregnancy etc.:
Our Torah – which means “instruction” – is a Torah of Life (including life not only in the World to Come but also in this world, and on the contrary – this is the main thing, for ‘it is not in the heavens’). The matter of blood pressure, besides for the fact that it changes from time to time and depends on the emotional state and mood in general etc. and taking the mind off it lessens it...also the doctor will explain to them that thousands and thousands who have higher than normal blood pressure give birth to sons and daughters in the best way etc.
And the main point...that any interference by a person in matters such as these, which belong only to the Creator and Ruler of the world, is the opposite of common sense and not only the opposite of the outlook of the Torah. There are several more points that can be added about this, and I will bring only two:
1) It is incumbent on our generation, in which everyone is like a stick saved from the fire of persecutions, may they not befall us and may the Merciful One save us from them, to fill not only what was accomplished by those who perished in the sanctification of G-d’s Name, rather the main thing is to fill also the number of Jewish People literally.
2) In this era, in which everyone looks for excuses...even in a strange way, and only to make one’s life easier, there is a big worry that acting in this way will influence also another woman to do so, because the reason of blood pressure is not public knowledge and they also don’t ask for a reason and explanation etc., rather they bring a proof from her actual conduct...
