When Rivka first saw Yitzchok, she fell off the camel she was riding. Look at the awe she had for Yitzchok. Yet, she went behind his back to make sure that Yaakov received the Brachos and not Eisav, against the will of her husband. Look how the same person who has unusual respect for her husband can go so blatantly against this same person.
And when she saw Yitzchok, he was just coming from bringing back Hagar, so Avraham should marry her again. This is the same Hagar who was sent AWAY from his house, in order to protect Yitzchok. And now, the same Yitzchok makes a special trip to bring Hagar back to his father. We see the broadmindedness of true Ovdei Hashem. Look how Avraham Avinu is total love for the three guests (Malachim), yet he won’t let them in his house until they get rid of Avoda Zara.
But Lot is different. He lets them in no matter what. (Rashi). These are the biggest Yesodos in Avodas Hashem. If you live with the truth, you’ll be doing: סְ תִּ ירוֹת contradictory actions all over your life. Otherwise, you are just a puppet who follows his Middos, good or bad, but not necessarily is there “truth” in his actions.
Rivka could have tremendous awe and respect for her husband, but she wasn’t an automatic “rag” who has no say. In her later actions, she is a total Chevra’man in making sure Yaakov gets the Brachos. And Hagar may have been a: גְ רוּ שָ ה divorced woman in the past, but right now she’s the perfect wife for Avraham Avinu. This is a tremendous lesson for many areas of our lives.
