When the Jews wanted to pass through the country of Edom, they asked the nation of Eisav permission. Moshe mentioned that because “we are brothers they should allow us passage.” Of course, Eisav did not let the Jews to make the crossing.
Rashi explains that because Hashem decreed that Avraham's descendants must be enslaved in Mitzrayim it was on both of us to go there. However, Eisav shirked his responsibility and we did the term for both. Therefore, we are now getting Eretz Yisroel. So please let us pass to get there.
We see that our trials and tribulations are what got us the zechus (merit) to get Eretz Yisroel. May we merit to be on the level to accept Hashem's decrees with understanding that He always does what is best for us.
