ASHER YATZAR: ENDLESS MIRACLES

When we use the bathroom, we must say Asher Yatzar. Many miracles enable us to eat, digest, and get rid of waste. Even before you begin eating, the saliva in your mouth is already waiting to break down the food. The stomach produces acid to further digest the food, but it does not harm the stomach thanks to a special lining not found anywhere else in the body. Many other organs play a role in extracting what the body needs and getting rid of what is not. Asher Yatzar reminds us of all the miracles at work in the human body: the heart, lungs, bloodstream, nervous system, bones, muscles and endless others too numerous to list.
