Hearing is Sometimes Enough:
Sefer Likutei Yehuda relates that a chasid once came to the Imrei Emes zy”a to ask his advice about a specific matter. The Rebbe remained silent and did not utter a word. The man proceeded to ask his question a second time, and he said, “Rebbe, you did not answer my question?”
The Imrei Emes replied, “Moshe said that the people should bring him their difficult questions and he will hear. He did not say that he would give an answer. We see from this that sometimes a person just needs to ask his question to a Rebbe and he does not need to receive an answer. Hearing is sometimes enough. Just having a tzadik hear your problem is sometimes sufficient to merit a yeshua.”
