...May it be the will of Hashem, that from speaking about coming into Eretz Yisrael, we should very soon merit to the actual entry in our physical realm.
As is well known the story about the Rebbe Maharash and the Tzemach Tzedek, regarding the “ketz” of a certain year, that the Tzemach Tzedek said that the Likkutei Torah was printed in that year, and the Rebbe Maharash responded that we need Moshiach in actuality! This means, that its not sufficient to have Geula spiritually, the printing of the Likkutei Torah, Hafotzas hamayonos Chutza, etc., but we need the Geula actually and literally.
And of course not to take consolation in the virtue that there is in “our actions and service throughout the duration of the golus” (Tanya ch. 37), through which the darkness is elevated, because although achieving this refinement is a very sublime matter, nevertheless, the primary avoda of the Jewish people needs to be in light and holiness, as it will be when Moshiach comes, when the promise of “and I will cause the unclean spirit to pass out of the land” (Zech. 13;2), when the avoda will be only in “consolidating more sublime unifications” in holiness, as is explained in Igeres Hakodesh (siman 26).
And this is our request every single day and in every prayer, also on Shabbos and Yomtov - “and our eyes shall see Your return to Tziyon” – and not only in the morning prayer but also in the Mussaf prayer, which means that our request for the Geula is not only in our routine avoda (the avoda of Tzadikim), but also from our avoda of “Musafim” (avoda of Baalei Teshuva). That notwithstanding the virtue of refining darkness – we request the Geula when the entire avoda will be in light and holiness.
