Moshiach Will Come to a Lowly Generation

Rav Mordechai Chaim of Slonim zy”a (Maamar Mordechai, Chelek 2, page 171) related: “Rav Hersh of Ziditchoiv zy”a once was sitting with his son-in-law and nephew of Rav Yehuda Tzvi of Razla zy”a, who was greatly bemoaning the spiritual descent of the generations, as it is clear that we are getting lower and lower. He cried and said, ‘Who will Moshiach be coming to already?’

“His father-in-law, the Ziditchoiver Rebbe, lifted his head and said, ‘And your little ones, whom you said will be prey, and your children, who on that day did not know good and evil.’ He was saying that Moshiach will come to a lowly generation, that can’t even tell the difference between good and bad. He will specifically come to a generation like that.”
