Son of Rav Nachman HaKohen Lipschitz of Dubna
His maternal grandfather, Rav Yosef ben Elyakim Getz, was rav of Lwow outside the city walls.
He served as Av Beis Din Dubna, succeeding his father, and afterwards in Hordona and Lublin.
After the Chacham Tzvi passed away on 2nd of Rosh Chodesh Iyarתע''ח in Lwow, Rav Simcha HaKohen was appointed as Av Beis Din of Lwow but on the way to Lwow he passed away on 7 Menachem Avתע''ח in Shebreshin.
His sons: Rav Chaim HaKohen Rappaport served as Av Beis Din Zital, Slutsk, and Lwow; Rav Binyamin HaKohen Rappaport, author Gevulos Binyamin.
His public derashos in Hordona from תס''ב-ג were published in his son Rav Chaim’s sefer, Zecher HaChaim, simanim 15-17.
