Within Torah which is compared to bread the Manna symbolises the inner dimension of Torah, as is known that the difference between the revealed aspect of Torah and the inner dimension of Torah is similar to the difference between bread that comes from the ground and bread that comes from the heaven.
This explains [within this context] why one of the allusions of the concealed rebuke was תֹפֶּל וְּלָבָן “Tofel and Lovon” that they complained about the Manna that it was ‘white’, this is because of the great exaltedness of the inner dimension of Torah (From where the concealed rebuke is drawn). It is therefore able to descend and be drawn to a much lower level and to effectuate a rectification even for those people who were complaining about the Manna – [which in this context applies to those who complain] about the inner dimension of Torah – which [by doing so] adversely effects the concealed faculties [energies] of one’s Neshomoh (parallel to how the spiritual Manna has an effect and becomes blood and flesh, like their flesh, even of those who were complaining about the Manna) and as our Sages of blessed memory have said that the illuminator within [Torah] (specifically illuminator which refers to the inner dimension of Torah) has the ability to return one to the correct path.
