In order to determine the solution to a problem, everything that the Torah says about the desert which the Jewish people travelled through is significant. The Torah is not just telling us a story; it is teaching us lessons for all times.
We find ourselves in Golus, and the Torah describes the journey through the desert as a time of challenge and growth. The actions of the fathers are a sign to the children. Just as our ancestors faced the desert, we too face our own spiritual deserts in Golus.
To understand Golus, we must clarify what it consists of and how to fix it. Knowing the cause is half the cure. Once we know what needs to be healed, we can begin to bring about the redemption.
