Translations. . .

  • From the “large desert”. .....
  • This that..........................
  • he considers, ..................
  • and makes important .........
  • the desert i.e. the world. ....
  • This is .............................
  • the first step .................
  • to all downfalls, .................
  • until (a point when) ...................
  • “And thirst where וצמאון אשר there is no water”. ....................

From this it is understood, that in order to fix all these downfalls one must fix the first cause/reason. Have a strength in Yiddeshkeit, remembering that “You (Hashem) chose us from all the nations and raised us up”. And then we become “free” from exile, and we go to the good and wide land, through Moshiach Tzidkeinu, speedily in our days.

From this (one) can come to an even greater descent/downfall: “Thirst where there is no water”. Even when from above he is aroused/inspired through the heavenly voices and the like, like it is explained in Chassidus, and it is created by him a thirst, also (even) then “There is no water”. Water refers to Torah, he doesn’t know towards what his thirst is. He is thirsty and doesn’t feel, and doesn’t know to what, because he has become so distant that he has no connection at all, and he doesn’t know about the entire existence of holiness.
