Sir Onkelos, a nephew of His Majesty Titus, has converted to Judaism. According to reports, his uncle sent royal messengers to convince him to return to respectable Roman beliefs and practices. The young man defended his position with such wisdom and conviction that the agents themselves embraced Judaism. The monarch then sent another group, and they were also convinced to become Jewish.
Titus then sent a third group, and gave them strict instructions to forcibly bring his nephew without talking to him. As they were dragging Onkelos out of his house, they were puzzled when he stretched out his hand and touched the Mezuzah.
Onkelos proceeded to explain how, unlike a king of flesh-and-blood, HaShem protects His people, shielding them with the Jewish Mezuzah He has them place by their doorposts.
“How insightful,” exclaimed Horatio Hocuspocus, who recently converted to Judaism and now goes by the name of Avraham ben Avraham. “When we learned about the kindness of the Jewish G-d, we all decided to become Jewish.”
