Al airplanes are the only ones in the world to have anti-missile technology built into them – and the only ones that need to.
The world has almost continually had people who wished to wipe out the Jews, and it has not changed despite living in our own country.
This is part of Hashem’s plan for us, for whatever reason, but in recent years especially, the situation in Israel has caused many people to worry about their safety there.
With terrorism and the intifada going on, people asked the Lubavitcher Rebbe, R’ Menachem Mendel Schneerson z”l, whether going to Israel was safe for them, or whether it was appropriate for them to send their children to study there.
Over and over, the Rebbe assured them there was no safer place to be than Israel. He quoted a posuk in this week’s Parsha, 11:12 – “always, Hashem’s eyes are upon [the land] from the beginning of the year until the end of the year.”
“How could you be any safer than when you are together with G-d in His capital city?” he would say. “There is nothing to worry about.”
Indeed, this Parsha reminds us that the safest place in the world to be, is “with Hashem.”
When we really internalize this message, we will see the miraculous salvation that we have been promised for millennia.
