Why Didnt He Come Yet

Dvar Malchus for Kids | June 25, 2025

Based on the Dvar Malchus of the Shabbos Parshas Eikev, 5751

Hebrew – eikev) could also mean the end of something. Our generation is the end, the one in which Moshiach will come, especially in light of the fact that we had the privilege to hear from the Rebbe Melech Hamoshiach himself that everything is ready and in place for the geulah.

Both meanings for the word ikvisa complement each other. Our spiritual situation isn't good and we have to try really hard in order to hold on to what we have and to progress in our avodas Hashem. This extra effort will lead us into the true and complete redemption.

Math lesson

As we approach the month of Elul, a month of cheshbon hanefesh (think over and correct our past), every Jew should approach Hashem and tell Him, "Let's think over all that You have done... According to what the Torah said about the generation in which Moshiach will reveal himself and about the miracles You performed in the world, in addition to the signs we will see when Moshiach arrives... We are so close to the geulah, always being occupied with and living the expression 'I wait for him every day until he comes' and believing wholeheartedly in 'Behold Moshiach has come'. Therefore, whatever we see, hear, and learn, we should find a way how this is connected to the redemption and how can we make it happen faster."

Why is the time period we now find ourselves in called ikvisa? There are two reasons. First of all, this generation is the most difficult when compared to the previous ones, similar to the ikvisa (heel), the lowest part of the body. There are many tests and temptations in this generation. It's hard for us to know what is the right way because of the spiritual darkness in the world. There are plenty of alternate ways. In addition, Chazal said, amongst other things, that there will be a lot of chutzpa in that time period. We live in that time period and see before our eyes what they said became a reality.

Secondly, the word ikvisa (in Hebrew) could also mean the end of something. Our generation is the end, the one in which Moshiach will come, especially in light of the fact that we had the privilege to hear from the Rebbe Melech Hamoshiach himself that everything is ready and in place for the geulah.

Chassidus for the blind

The Rebbe Melech Hamoshiach Shlita continues:

"Since we already finished all of our deeds and work, and as a result we scream out and demand, 'ad mosai'!!!, one can ask a thundering question – Since we finished everything, why hasn't Moshiach already come?"

It's known that the Moshiach told the Baal ShemTov that he will come "When the wellsprings of Chassidus are disseminated to the outside", when Chassidus will be revealed to and learned by the entire Jewish nation.

Since then, throughout the years, everyone can see that the Baal Shem Tov's teachings have reached everywhere, especially in this generation, starting from the previous Rebbe, who on the one hand revealed Chassidus with a lot of explanation in order that everyone would be able to understand, while at the same time sent shluchim all over the world who would teach Chassidus and translate it into different languages for all to understand.

Even if Chassidus didn't reach all segments of the Jewish population and bring them closer to Hashem and His Torah, it at least reached all of its segments. Whoever didn't start learning Chassidus has the opportunity to do so.

The Rebbe said, "It occurred to me that there is a segment in the Jewish nation that wasn't exposed yet to Chassidus – the blind."

Braille was something that was developed for the blind. It is print that can be felt with the fingers, allowing the "reader" to understand what he/she is "reading". Chassidus has already been printed in all languages, including Arabic and Japanese, except for Braille. Perhaps the King Moshiach was waiting for this to happen and only then he will come.

But...this also has been done. The Tanya has already been printed in Braille and the blind can also learn Tanya on their own.

The Rebbe Melech Hamoshiach emphasized that the Tanya in Braille has already come to "770", the source of all the wellsprings of Chassidus, something that adds more importance to the book.

Moshiach will come – For sure

The Rebbe Melech Hamoshiach concludes with the following:

"The most important point from all of the above is the true and complete geulah through Moshiach Tzidkeinu in actuality – mamash."

Even if this was the reason for the unexplainable hold up of the redemption, or there's no connection whatsoever; but after the Tanya was printed in Braille, the true and complete redemption will certainly come immediately!

Then, all illnesses will be cured, the blind being the first ones, as the posuk teaches us, "When Hashem comes to cure the world, He will cure the blind first." Then they will no longer learn Tanya in Braille, but instead will learn it like everyone else.

Then there will no longer be a need for books or printed material, for all of us will hear and see the most amazing things that the Melech Hamoshiach will show us.

The Rebbe Melech Hamoshiach concludes with a blessing:

"It should be Hashem's will that immediately, a moment before the geulah, by learning the previously talked about book by those who need to right now, Hashem should cure them immediately...They should read and learn Torah in the most perfected manner possible in the true and complete redemption, 'Torah Chadash Meiti Teitzei'...and most important, the true and complete redemption through Moshiach Tzidkeinu immediately – mamash!"
