Kohen Gadol

Baal HaTurim: הכהן הגדול (the Kohen who is great). The word הדגול can be read as ה' גדול meaning five ways which he is exalted over his fellow Kohanim: regarding beauty, strength, wealth, and years.

This means the Kohen who is greater from his fellow Kohanim. Therefore, for example, if the candidate is not wealthy, then his fellow Kohanim should give him presents from their personal funds until he will become the wealthiest among them.
