Rav Shmuel Shir L'Chassidim (Iyar 14, 5580 / 1820 - 204th Yahrzeit)

Son of Rav Avrohom Yeshayahu. Originally from Cracow. He was a disciple of the Noam Elimelech and of the Chozeh of Lublin. He served as the Rav of Sokolov and afterwards of Karov and Wengrove. He is considered to be one of the first to spread Chassidus in Poland. He passed away on 14 Iyar תק''פ (Seder haDoros HaChadash p58)
