Rebbetzin Chanah, the mother of the Rebbe King Moshiach Shlita, passed away on the 6th of Tishrei, which came out that year on the Shabbos between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Her name, Chanah, stands for the three Mitzvos given to the Jewish women, on which the Jewish People depend: Challah (taking off a piece when making dough and making sure the food is Kosher in general), Niddah (family purity) and Hadlakas Haneir (lighting Shabbos and Yom Tov candles). These Mitzvos fix what went wrong with Adam through the sin of the Tree of Knowledge; he was the “Challah, blood and candle” of the world. It was thanks to the Jewish women that we were redeemed from Egypt, and that we will be redeemed through Moshiach. In the Haftorah of Rosh Hashanah, we read about the prayer of Chanah, the mother of the prophet Shmuel, which concludes with a prayer about Moshiach, “And He will give strength to His king and exalt the triumph of His anointed one (“Meshicho”)”.
