The Science: No Catching Up

In empty space light moves at one fixed speed, about 186,000 miles per second. That number does not change when you move: point the fastest ship you can build at your own past, and the light still pulls away at the full 186,000. The gap only widens; the scene stands a day farther ahead of you tomorrow than today. Einstein’s Relativity allows no exception and no shortcut. Only an eye already far enough out ever receives it, and nothing you send can arrive ahead of it. Who is it traveling for?

The sky keeps the record; teshuvah decides its reading. Yirah (awe/fear) lowers willful sins to accidents and reaches no further (Yoma 86b). Love reaches lower, because a soul that has been in the wilderness comes back with a tzimaon (thirst) greater than the righteous ever feel (Tanya ch. 7). So the baal teshuvah stands where the perfectly righteous cannot (Berachos 34b). That is the dirah b'tachtonim (dwelling below) Moshiach reveals.
