It was a contest that the teacher created to review the chapter of material that was just covered in class. The class was divided down the middle into, “Left Team” and “Right Team” and the stakes were high. The winning team was to receive fresh pizza, plus extra credit points on the next test. The losing team was to receive no extra credit and day-old pizza.
A question was posed to one of the "Left Team" students. However, the student noticed that the question and answer had been written on the board since last Friday and that the teacher had forgotten to erase the answer. Despite the peer pressure to look at the board, answer the question and have his team pull ahead, the student pointed to the board and said, "It wouldn’t be honest for me to answer the question because the answer has been on the board since last Friday. May I have a different question?" This is a small example of everyday Emes that Boruch Hashem, exists in our schools today.
