I served as a Rav in one of the communities in the world. But until I came into the rabbinate, I witnessed that HaKadosh Baruch Hu manages the world accurately, and we must be calm and trusting even if it seems bad to us at the time.
I was a chavrusa to a young man in that place in the world, which I am not mentioning so as not to embarrass anyone, chalilah. The head of the Kollel was also from Eretz Yisrael, but he had a family with a boy in yeshiva, a daughter in seminary, and other children in various stages. The community was not yet developed, so he could not move abroad with his entire family, so he spent a few weeks in the community and a week at home.
He was a successful talmid Chacham with beautiful midos, but my chavrusa explained that he wanted to be head of the Kollel, so he began to speak out about him to the community leaders, that it is not possible to build a community when he does not live there with his family, since part of the Rav’s job is to invite families to Shabbos meals, and bring the young and old closer, and other claims.
I became aware of the matter when he tried to recruit me to his side to make these arguments to the community leaders. I was shocked when I heard of his plot, and of course I did not join and I only spoke well of him. In any case, the plot succeeded and they fired the amazing head of the Kollel.
The person who plotted the firing got his position, but a short time later he too was fired because obviously, he was not right for the job, and as a result I accepted the position of Rav after defending the first Rav. I served in this position for several years until we decided to return to Israel with our large family, Baruch Hashem.
But then I realized the magnitude of the first Rav’s hashgacha, who was very successful. Apparently, his world was destroyed... however, one of the great talmidei chachamim in Eretz Yisrael heard that he had returned, and they needed a faithful dayan [judge] who was yarei shamayim to replace a dayan who had to leave. He was accepted as a dayan and advanced through the ranks of the rabbinate with a substantial salary, without having to leave his family for most of the month, with wealth and honor. Whereas the one who spoke badly lived in poverty without a job.
Only in hindsight did I see how everything is supervised and precise, that we will be happy and trusting even when things seem bad, all is good and everything is for the best, and whoever speaks badly about another does not really succeed in the long run!!!
