An ever-growing parade of farmers is making its way toward Jerusalem. Participating in the annual Bikkurim (“first-fruits”) ritual, farmers are bringing the first produce of their field to be eaten in the holy city. Led by an ox, whose horns are decorated with gold and silver and whose head is crowned with olive branches, enthusiastic musicians play flutes, while the basket-bearing crowd sings and dances.
“We have so much to be thankful for,” exclaimed Aron Artzi, co-owner of Holy Land Farm. “Our ancestors were slaves in Egypt. Now, with the help of the One Above, we are successful farmers in the Holy Land.”
“Last year, we had a 22% increase from the previous year,” added his wife, Leah Artzi, “and introduced our new line of non-GMO, 100% organic, bug-free, pesticide-free produce. This Bikkurim parade is the absolute best way to express to the CEO of Planet Earth how grateful we are for this magnificent land and His heavenly blessings.”
