Rav Osher Yeshaya Rubin (Elul 21, 5674 / 1914 - 110th Yahrzeit)

Rav Asher Yeshaya was a scion of the Ropshitz Dynasty. He was the son of Rav Yechiel Rubin of Kolbasov and the son-in-law of Rav Alexander Safrin who was the son of Rav Yitzchok Isaac of Komarna.

He was orphaned at a young age and his brother-in-law, Rav Avrohom Aharon Teitelbaum, was appointed rabbi of Kolbosof. After his brother-in-law passed away in תר"ע, a dispute arose between Rav Teitelbaum’s descendants and Rav Asher Yeshaya over who should be the successor to the post of rabbi.
