Encouraging Stubbornness
And we are expected to nurture and encourage that middah of stubbornness. It means that whatever they’ll try to tempt us with, whatever blandishments of good times and equality and entertainment and fads – it means nothing to us. Why? Because we are the am k’shei oref. We already chose once; we chose Hakadosh Baruch Hu and we’re stubborn about it. And that’s why we’re compared to the boldness of a dog. Because we’re tenacious and bold and we’ll never give up our loyalty to our master.
