It can be said that as a result of the Rebbe Rashab delivering this Maamor in the year 5679-1919, it drew down an empowerment to serve Hashem with an [illogical Avodah] one transcending logic, symbolised by the second half Shekel. This Hamshocho was not just for that time but for all time that follows.
Therefore, when the Frierdiker Rebbe delivered the Maamor in 5687 – 1927, which is based on the above mentioned Maamor of Ki Sisah, he discussed the concept of Mesiras Nefesh in the Maamor in accordance with what was appropriate and called for at that time. [Soviet Oppression] Similarly, this Maamor should at all times arouse and have an effect on Yidden, and especially on Chassidim [so that they embody] this concept of rendering ‘all things equal’ and Mesiras Nefesh and that they should not be concerned about themselves. They shall be dedicated and devoted to HaShem’s Supernal will with Mesiras Nefesh. When every person will effectuate this idea within himself, the willingness to be Moser Nefesh will suffice without the need for actual martyrdom.
