Mesiras Nefesh and the Half Shekel

Mentioned earlier: That the pauper’s Neshomoh is connected the world of Asiyah yet the wealthy person’s Neshomoh is a Neshomoh from Atzilus. Therefore, the Possuk states “The wealthy person shall not give more and the pauper shall not give less” because within this realm of Avodah there are the wealthy and the poor.

Wealth: Summary: There are two types of joy; joy that comes as a result of love that makes sense and every Jew can attain that level of love; and then there is another level of love which results from love which is beyond logic; and this love is only available to the righteous and is given as a gift from the heavens as a result of first achieving an Avodah of love through logic.

When you raise: Although contextual meaning of the words Ki Sisah would mean to count, the literal translation means to raise.

Moshe: But not just by Moshe also by each leader of the generation whom embodies Moshe.

Moshe in each generation: The Zohar tells us that in each generation there is a leader of the Jewish people who has the sparks of Moshe within.

He causes Emunah to be drawn down internally rendering anything undesirable to become annulled לִּפְּקֻדֵיהֶם - An annulment of anything undesirable. This also causes the ׳זֶה יִּתְּנוּ גוֹ׳ מֵַֽחֲצִּית הַשֶקֶל גוֹ the causing of one to give the first half a Shekel which symbolises the devotion of one’s ten faculties to G-dliness.

Further, the second half Shekel which comes as a gift from above symbolising an Avodah which transcends logic, renders everything into a perspective of ‘all things being equal’ and the Avodah of Mesiras Nefesh.

All this therefore brings the second half Shekel within the reach of every Jew, being that Moshe is the shepherd of every Jew and specifically regarding Chassidim, being that they are closely connected to the Moshe of our generation the Frierdiker Rebbe. This should awaken them even more to ensure they have the perspective of ‘all things being equal’ and the aspect of Mesiras Nefesh.

Mesiras Nefesh: Summary: כִּי תִּשָּׂא אֶת־רֹאשׁ בְּנֵֵֽי־יִּשְּ רָּׂאֵל Moshe Rabbeinu draws down into the B’nei Yisroel the ability and the tools to have complete and utter faith in HaShem and he draws it right into their inner selves, because of which לִּפְּקֻדֵיהֶם the B’nei Yisroel are able to completely serve HaShem and perfect all failings; and the B’nei Yisroel serve HaShem with their ten faculties (Symbolised by the half Shekel) and as a result are also able to receive the ten faculties from heaven which gives one the impetus to serve HaShem from Mesiras Nefesh.

It can be said that as a result of the Rebbe Rashab delivering this Maamor in the year 5679-1919, it drew down an empowerment to serve Hashem with an [illogical Avodah] one transcending logic, symbolised by the second half Shekel. This Hamshocho was not just for that time but for all time that follows.
